Internet Marketing Training Videos – For Free
This post will be short. You might be wondering where I’ve been. Well, that’s a long story, so I’ll give you the short version. I was busy doing other things.
Now that that is out of the way, I’ll get to my topic. A few weeks ago I started a special forum that provides free training videos for internet marketers and those starting out as marketers. Everything from application training, like Excel and PowerPoint, even Camtasia and Photoshop, to marketing specific training like PPC, Article Writing, and other traffic and list building topics.
You will learn how to be a marketer and how to use programs that help you be a better marketer, and it’s all for free.
Yup, absolutely free, no strings attached.
This training isn’t watered down, it isn’t an upsell trick to get you to buy something later, it’s just my way of helping the community and putting some good quality stuff out there that you don’t have to pay for.
You can register here: http://forums.walkerstudiopro.com
Again, totally free and you can view all the videos on the forum, and more are added every day.
If You Read This You Won’t Like It, I Promise
Wow, it’s been awhile since I’ve written. So much going on here lately, and Spring is here! I’m getting my camper all ready and thinking about where I’ll be going in the coming months.
What does that have to do with Internet Marketing? Nothing! So let’s change the subject.
You’ve started down the road to financial independance and maybe even gotten so far as to have your own website up and running.
You know all about list building and how important it is to your business.
Maybe you’re even in a niche that excites you, something you’re really interested in. (or maybe you’re still in the ‘make money as an internet marketer’ niche LOL)
The question is, “Now what?”
Did you know that picking your niche, setting up a website (whether for list building, affiliate marketing, or PLR products) is the EASY part? You heard me right, there are THOUSANDS of websites up right now, cool looking ones too, that were setup with big dreams in mind.
And those websites don’t make a penny. You know why? NO TRAFFIC!
Yep, time and again I am approached by newbies that have tackled all the ‘tough technical stuff’ and have a website up that should make money. In fact, if it had visitors it WOULD make money.
But they aren’t making any – because they have no traffic.
I’ll be the first to tell you that there is no one system or program you can buy that will get you all the traffic you need. And I wouldn’t attempt to teach it all to you in a single blog post. But what I will do is tell you the areas you need to focus on.
Today, let’s deal with Link Building.
Link Building
Most newbies don’t have or want to spend money on advertising. Fair enough, but don’t expect organic (free) traffic to come over night, especially without a lot of effort.
Building links back to your website is one of the best ways to spend your time online.
Basically, it gives your site an edge as far as the search engines go. The more inbound, one-way links you have (with keyword anchor text) the more brownie points you get.
It also gives you a chance to get click-through traffic. This is traffic that you get from users viewing forums or blogs, and clicking through to your site by using the links you’ve made.
How do you do it? Simple.
First, you want to build links from sites that have high PR (page rank). If you don’t know what PR is, go here and do a bit of reading. They also have a free tool you can use to check PR.
The kind of sites you want is blogs, forums, social networking sites, you get the idea. These are sites that allow user generated content. The trick is though, you have to use the site like a regular user. If you use it like a spammer, you’ll be ignored.
So on a forum, for example, you just set your signature to something low-key like:
__________________________
Regards,
Ken

You are building links every time you post, AND you’ll get clickthroughs from curious forum visitors.
But you CAN’T use the forum like a troll. You have to interact just like everybody else. Ask questions, answer questions, etc…
It’s very important. If you abuse it, you could get banned or shunned.
The same holds true with blog commenting. If you go to a blog, READ the article before you comment. Don’t just say “Cool! I agree 100%!”
If you do that, you’re a dork.
Read the article, mention the poster by name in your comment, and say something that proves you read the article. Then they don’t mind you having a link to your site.
Make Money Online Today!
Sorry, the headline is a little misleading. But hey, everybody else uses it, so why not?
Let me tell you a little story.
A little indian went hunting. He grabbed his bow and arrow, his knife, and his mocassins. He stalked a herd of white-tail deer for days.
He hadn’t eaten meat for almost a week, but he was hunting some of the finest and the desire for venison pushed him onward.
After 4 days of stalking, just after dawn, he found them bedded down in a thick forest.
Seeing a sizable buck, he took aim, shot…and missed! The herd darted off and was gone in an instant.
He continued. The tracks were very clear, he would not give up.
Another 2 days passed, and again he came to their bedding ground, just after dawn.
This time, he was more careful. Releasing his arrow, it plunged straight into the heart of a nice buck that would feed him and his family for some time.
When Was He Hunting?
Now let me ask you something. When was the indian hunting? Was it when he finally killed the buck? Or was it when he first found them bedded down on the fourth day?
I’ll help you out. He was hunting when he first picked up his bow and arrow and put on his mocassins.
“Wait!”, you say, “He didn’t kill anything for a week after he left!” True, but he was hunting nonetheless.
Making money online is just like this little story of the indian. You are a marketer when you first decide to do it, and take one little action step of faith. Maybe you buy a course. Maybe you get hosting for your website.
Once you take that leap of faith and actually DO something, then you ARE an internet marketer and you are marketing.
Now, had our little indian camped out on the 2nd day, and stayed in one spot for a few days, then moved on, we could still say he was hunting, but of course his results would come much more slowly.
So it is with marketing. You have to decide to do it, and put your all into it, like your life depended on it.
Sure, no money got deposited into your account the day you started, but you’re on your way.
Our little indian friend would have no hope of feeding his family if he never set out on the journey. And neither would you.
The Sluggard Wishes To Be Rich, But Does Not Will It
The title above is a quote by Andrew Murray. It basically says it all and I really don’t need to elaborate much, but I will any how.
Sad but true, most of us say we want something, we wish for it. The thing is, aside from Christmas and maybe your birthday, wishes aren’t going to get you anywhere in life.
If you want ANYTHING at all out of life, you have to WILL it.
For example, let’s say I’m shopping. I see a nice Fender Strat for $2k. I wish it was mine. But that is a little more than I want to pay for a guitar, so I don’t buy it. I wish for it, but I don’t will it.
Now, at the same store I see a Marshall stack that I absolutely love. I plug in and the tone is so sweet, I wink at the $3k price tag. Even if I’m broke and work at McDonald’s, I’ll save every penny I get until I can go pick up that amp!
Our will is what really determines where we go in life. I hear all the time “I want…<insert desire here>!”
Guess what I’ve found out? It isn’t all luck, it isn’t being born into the right family, it isn’t having natural ability, it’s all about will. You can DO anything you want to and you can HAVE anything you want to have.
Human beings have a tendency – they do exactly what they want to do!
If you’re not making money online, it’s because you’ve let something else take up your time and focus. Maybe you’re sitting on the couch watching too much TV, maybe you’re going fishing or hanging out at the bar too much.
Now, if those things make you happy, fine. But don’t whine about not making money online. There are too many success stories out there that tell me it really works and ANYBODY can make it happen, if they will it.
The Call To Action – And Why You Need It
I know, I know, they wanna buy your product so they’ll just click right? WRONG!
Lots of people write copy that makes people say “Wow, that’s cool!” The copy might get attention, hold attention, and make the reader seriously consider the proposition, BUT it falls flat on its face when it comes to closing the deal.
Is the call to action that important? Try this.
Go to a car dealer and ask to speak to the sales manager. Ask him how important it is that his sales men are good ‘closers’.
What is a good closer you ask? It is someone that ASKS for the sale. You can’t just show somebody how slick and shiny that new car is, how awesome the leather feels, and how powerful the engine is, and expect them to plunk down $10k for a down payment.
The Call To Action
You have to ask them to do it.
Things brings up another very important aspect of your whole advertising campaign. Do YOU know what you want them to do?
I see lots of people write copy that has way too many options. I don’t know if they want me to optin, or they’d rather I buy something, or maybe they’d rather I click a link and find out more.
You need to be focused and know exactly what you want them to do. If you want an optin, that is the jist of your entire campaign. That IS the call to action.
You don’t try to presell on a squeeze page. On a squeeze page you’re selling the optin, so the call to action is “Sign up now!” or something like that.
I’ll try to remember to post specifically about squeeze page tactics, but for now, I digress, back to the call to action itself.
After your copy is read (or viewed if it’s a video) you MUST tell them what to do! If you miss this, you leave money on the table.
I’m not going to deal with what your offer should be right now, but if you’re selling something, you NEED to include a guarantee of some sort. This alone sends many prospects over the edge.
The call to action should include some sense of urgency if possible – “Order now, before the price goes up!” or “Only 200 copies left, order yours NOW!”
“With my money-back guarantee, there’s no reason to delay. Click here to get started.”
The call to action is direct, it gives instruction, provides details on what you want. Don’t just leave them hanging.
If you want them to click the order button, tell them to click the order button. If you want them to fill out a questionaire, tell them to do so. The key is to get them to act, that’s why it’s called a ‘call to ACTION’.
When Exactly IS ‘Later’?
Think about it. Ever tell somebody “I’ll call you later.” and then you don’t call them?
Or, ever chat with friends and when you’re ready to go you say “Hey you guys should come over some time.”?
They never come over do they? Why?
Because nothing was set. No date, no time. So it didn’t happen, did it?
That’s the way it is with sales or optins. That’s why with an optin, you absolutely MUST tell them to sign up right away. Then, keep the momentum going by telling them to check their email because you just sent them something (via your autoresponder, of course).
The bottom line is simple – know what you want them to do, and tell them to do it. The call to action needs to be simple and easy for them to do – NOW. Here’s an example:
Did you like this post? Then do me a favor, leave a comment right now!
What’s The Hurry? Why Right Now?
Let’s face it, we’re all procrastinators and we forget to do things we really did want to do. It’s a fact.
That means your prospects might really believe all the pitch you just gave them and intend to act. You grabbed their attention with the headline, and kept their attention long enough to show them the benefits, they played along and ‘will get to it soon enough’.
Unless you want them to drop the ball, now’s the time you need to instill in them a sense of urgency, otherwise, with very good intentions, they might forget all about their plan to buy your product and take over the world with it. If you let them put it off until tomorrow…well, you know the saying…tomorrow never comes.
When I bought my first airplane the salesman had a sign over his desk. It went something like this.
“The plane you looked at today and will buy tomorrow, may have been looked at yesterday and bought by someone else later today.”
It instilled a sense of urgency that unless I act now, I could very well lose the plane of my dreams. (although, with the economy the way it is right now, airplanes aren’t exactly selling like hotcakes.)
You’re about to write a sentence or two that are extremly vital in the decision making process. It doesn’t take much. You’re about to plant a thought in their minds that they might miss out on this great deal, if they don’t do something now!
It can be negative or positive – a loss or a gain.
If you were selling auto insurance, you might hint at the fear of them getting into an accident on the way home, without your insurance. Tell them how much they’ll save on their next bill or their next claim.
If you’re selling a marketing membership, you might mention that you are only selling 300 spots, after that, you’re closing the doors, possibly for good.
Let’s say you have a product that helps farmers save thousands of dollars on fertilizer. You would definitely mention that they are losing money every minute that they are not using your product.
Scarcity & Urgency Must Be Genuine
It’s important to relate a sense of urgency to your prospect, but it’s even more important that it be REAL.
We’ve all seen those pages where there is a countdown that tells you “You have 7 minutes and 43 seconds to snatch up this deal or it will be gone forever.”
You panic…oh dear, I must make a decision now…
You read as fast as you can…
Then, just before hitting the order button with only 15 seconds left on the clock, your cat jumps up on your desk and hits the F5 key on your keyboard! What??!?!! Refresh???? NOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Wait a minute…the counter says 7 minutes and 43 seconds again…
What kinda scam is this?
Exactly.
If you do that, your prospect won’t trust you. And why should they?
Trust is numero uno online, and if you break it, you’re done for.
Any scarcity (limited quantity, limited time, etc…) or urgency MUST be genuine.
You’re Almost There
Instilling urgency or scarcity will help push people over the edge. It’s that little key ingredient that will help them make up their minds and get ready to do something.
Once you’ve hooked them with your headline, showed them the benefits, proved what you’ve said and made them feel uneasy about procrastinating, it’s time to call them to action – which will be the topic of my next post.
How Would You Like A Turn-Key Website Almost Instantly?
This video is for those of you that are struggling to get going with your online business and you’d like somebody else to do all the hard stuff for you, and you just basically wanna sit back and do the fun stuff. I don’t blame you.
Hi, I’m Ken Walker producer of KillerVideoSqueezePages.com, as well as MarketingToolsIUse.com and several other training products available all over the internet.
If you’ve bought an info product in the last few years, you’ve probably seen my face or heard my voice at some point in the sales pitch, or in the product itself.
Listen up because you’re about to get a chance at an instant, turn-key, customized, niche specific online business…
…but only a select few will get to take advantage of this opportunity.
My Own Wife Needed My Help!
Let me tell you how I got the idea for this.
My wife has wanted to have her own online business for years, and would you believe I’ve always promised it to her, but never sat down and showed her how.
It’s kinda like the mechanic’s car and the carpenter’s house, just never got around to it.
Well, the other night we had a great idea about her site and I sat down with her and literally setup her business in about 2 hours.
I picked her domain, registered it, and…by the time I was done, she had a niche specific website that was setup to monetize and all she had to do was write articles based on the keywords I had picked for her.
It was almost a shock to me to see my own wife struggling with things that I found absolutely simple.
When we were doing keyword research, I saw right away why so many newbies failed. Her selections were way too broad, she didn’t know to focus and narrow things down. She couldn’t tell which keyword phrases were worth money and which ones were a waste of time.
As far as how or where to get banner ads and products to promote, she was clueless, and the thing is, she isn’t green when it comes to the computer, she knows her way around. She even knows what a squeeze page is, but when I told her she needed a blog and a way to monetize it, she was clueless as to where to begin.
Now…honestly, I think she could have figured it out and been able to do it herself in a couple of weeks, but, instead, I did it for her and later this month I’m going down to Florida to do it for one of my relatives.
When I was done, she said, “Wow, what you just did was probably worth a lot of money!” And I got to thinking, “How many people would love to cut weeks or even months off their learning curve, not be a techy, and would love to just have a site setup and ready to monetize?”
My Own Example Of How It Works
I want you to take a look at my MarketingToolsIUse.com website. This site makes me a load of cash each and every month without me doing much of anything except write about things I love to talk about. And the money is residual, I still make money on articles I wrote last year.
The products that are promoted on the site are NOT mine, I just promote them as an affiliate. That means no support, no shipping, no problems…just cash.
I write about once or twice a week, and it just keeps making me money.
I’ve written articles there that have made me hundreds of dollars a month in affiliate commissions, even 2 years after writing them.
How Would You Like A Site Like That?
What I’d like to do is help you get this kinda site setup for yourself, in whatever profitable niche you’re interested in.
And when I say “help”, I mean it. Help, as in, me and my team do everything for you.
You will talk with me on the phone where I will find out for you what niche you should be in, based on your interests and abilities.
Then, like magic, I will compile a list of keyword phrases that you’ll use to write your content. These keywords will be valuable phrases that you’ll want your site to rank for, keywords that will get you the kind of traffic you want.
But it doesn’t stop there.
My team will setup your website with a special blog, on your hosting account. If you don’t have one, we’ll help you get one.
Imagine yourself working closely with me. Knowing that you’re in a profitable niche, and that you’re headed down the right road.
I’ll help you by walking you through the process of signing up for the affiliate programs you need and I will then select products for you to promote and monetize on your website. I will be your hired gun.
All that you’ll do is answer my questions and provide me with feedback. Me and my team will take care of everything else.
In literally one day’s time, you’ll have a professional website just like my MarketingToolsIUse.com site.
After your money-making website is put together, all you have to do is write articles about the things you love in the niche we’ve selected for you…and use your favorite free traffic methods to send traffic.
“That sounds amazing Ken, but how much is this all going to cost me?”
Before I tell you how much this is gonna cost you, I want to stress something to you.
This is not for get-rich-quick minded people. What I’m going to setup for you is a real business.
The truth about business, online or offline, is that you have to grow it. More than likely, you won’t make 5 figures your first month.
If gurus tell you that, they’re lying to you.

The Proof Is In The Pudding
First, let me tell you I’m sorry for the delay in writing. I went to Vegas for a conference, then got back and had a load of things to catch up on. Let’s see where we’re at.
In my last post we learned that we’ve gotta show them what our product or service will do for THEM. Whiter teeth. A slimmer, trimmer waist.
We can’t leave it there though…because anybody selling teeth whitener will say that their product whitens teeth. They need more to go on. They need proof.
One thing is very important here. Proof is something that you can introduce at ANY time. So…it doesn’t have to be done as the ’3rd element’ in our diabolical sequence of seduction. You can do it anywhere. Headline, P.S., body, wherever.
What that means is, if you can grab attention with your headline, and introduce proof in that same headline, at the same time – WHAMMO! (that means “do it”)
Why Do You Need Proof?
Simple. Let me tell you a little bit about the left brain/right brain stuff. This is kinda cool, so pay attention.
Most decisions to make a purchase are triggered by emotion, NOT logic. Our product or service will first appeal to someone when it pulls on their emotional side – that’s the right brain. It’s intuitive. It’s spontaneous.
However, a check and balance is often in place. It’s a boring little thing called the left brain. It’s logical.
When we see something that is attractive to us, our right brain says “YEAH BABY!” but our left brain says “Whoa horsey, let’s have a look at the facts.”
Now, it’s true that for some people, we can rely on the fact that they make most of their decisions with their right brain. This is often the case with women, at least mine. (Hi honey!)
While there are some companies out there that have built their entire existence on those few souls that reach for their wallet every time their right brain goes into another advertising induced seizure, I don’t recommend that you build YOUR business that way.
There are so many other people you can reach if you appeal to their left brain, or logical side.
Now, I’ve appealed to YOUR right brain long enough – time to deal with the left brain.
The fact is, people don’t believe ads. For the most part, they expect you to lie. You can’t just say “The best you’ll ever buy.” Um…what else would you say? “Our widget is the 4th best one in the world.” Doesn’t have a nice ring does it.
So just saying “our product is awesome” isn’t going to impress them much.
“Voted #1 by consumer reports 3 years in a row!” DOES say something. It’s facts. It’s something that can be proved.
The Right Brain Needs Support
Fortunately, we have another little secret weapon. The right brain REALLY does want our product or service, and the right brain is pretty persuasive.
I would venture to say that in most people, the right brain is a bit stronger. All we’ve got to do is bring them to the edge (which is fairly easy to do with the right brain) and then give them a gentle nudge (which we do with the left brain).
Our customers actually WANT to buy, but they need a reason. This is why ‘buy one get one free’ sales are everywhere. The right brain says “hey that’s cool, I want one”. The left brain says, “Why? You’ve already got one.” The right brain, who is a bit smarter than might at first be apparent, responds with “Because I can get another one for FREE silly!”
To this, of course, the left brain must concede. Who can pass that up?
As a marketer, what you have to do is captivate emotion and reason and make them work together to produce the desired result – a sale.
You have promised your prospect some results. You’ve slapped them in their right brain. They’re on the edge of the cliff. All that remains is to work the left brain and they’ll fall head first with their wallet right behind them.
To pull this off, you have to have a plan. That means, you don’t just sit down and start plunking away at your keyboard.
You have to discover facts about your product or service. You have to think about how you can weave those into your ad, whether it be a 4 liner Adwords ad, or a full-blown long-form sales letter – OR a video script.
Here’s What You’re Looking For
- Product quality – has anybody tested it? Is there something in it that everybody KNOWS works? (e.g. DEET for mosquito spray)
- Who’s involved? – is there anyone that your prospect would know that is involved in your little project? This is why we see celebrities endorse products. (e.g. If Michael Jordan wears those shoes, they’ve got to be good)
- How does it perform? – did these shoes survive 1,000,000 steps before wearing through the sole? Did she really lose that weight? This is why before and after photos are often used.
- What do others say? – customer testimonials used to be ‘the’ thing. However, today, with so many ‘marketers’ just making stuff up and grabbing photos of the internet, I don’t think they’re as strong as they used to be. Plus, the FTC has stepped in and gone to bat for John Q. Public, which means you better be real careful about how you use a customer testimonial and make sure you can prove its authenticity.
- Have you won any awards? – My good buddy Chris Farrell has won the ‘IM Report Card #1 Internet Marketing Service’ since I can’t remember when and he uses that fact on his membership site. It’s a great proof element. It shows others have used his service and loved it.
The fact is your ad will state something that your right brain really WANTS to believe. Most ads just don’t come through with the goods and convince the left brain.
Tell them something that sounds like it could be true. Don’t blow up your facts until they sound ‘too good to be true’.
Tell them the obvious. This sells them that the rest of what you’re saying is true as well. If there is some small ‘fault’ that you can admit to, like the fact that your course is ‘digital only’ and they’re not paying for beautiful AND pricey DVD artwork and physical DVDs, then do it. Admitting your ‘flaw’ will go a long way to impress them.
A certain coffee company (which will remain nameless since they don’t have an affiliate program LOL) advertises regularly about where their ingredients come from, and what work is involved to make it all happen. They talk about the people, the effort that goes into growing the beans. They’re dramatizing it and providing factual data that underscores how good, and exclusive this coffee must be.
Think of creative ways that you can make your facts more dramatic. Remember the Energizer bunny? Still going…
That bunny doesn’t literally keep going forever, but they show proof that their battery outlasts competitors’ batteries…and then they dramatize it. BTW, would you believe Duracell started the ‘battery bunny’ campagin and Entergizer stole it through a super slick marketing campaign, coupled with a fast trademark trigger finger?
In summary, we knock them in the right brain, and while they’re dazed and confused, we run the numbers by the left brain to slam-dunk the deal. Masterful advertising and copywriting always acts in ways to get the left and right brains to help each other make the purchase decision.
Show Them The Benefits
I’ve got a slight news flash for you.
Everybody in the world listens to the same radio station. WIIFM.
“What’s In It For Me?”
If you want to keep their attention, it’s really very simple. Tell them what you or your product are going to do for them, and tell them quickly.
They don’t want to know how cool you are, or how much money you make. They want to know what you are going to do for them.
You don’t sell exercise equipment, you sell ‘a slim-trim, beautifyl body’.
